The Story
of JAGA
From a spark at Tapas Progressive School to a global movement empowering children to design their own educational spaces.
"Let children design the spaces they learn in."
Child Voice
Valuing student design sensibility above adult assumptions.
Real Impact
Integrating project-based learning with real-world infrastructure.
Inclusivity
Promoting empathy and creativity across diverse learners.
Well-being
Demonstrating how school design physically reflects student mental health.
Why JAGA?
JAGA (meaning awakening) is grounded in the belief that learners deserve a voice in shaping the physical and emotional ecosystems they inhabit every day.
In most schools, infrastructure decisions are made by adults, leaving out the very people who use these spaces the most—students. JAGA flips this narrative entirely.
About Tapas Progressive School
Tapas is a Bangalore-based micro-school offering a 100% project-based curriculum, certified by Cambridge, and built on the pillars of student agency, empathy, and real-world impact. Tapas is not just rethinking pedagogy—it’s rethinking school as a concept.
